Plagiarism

Plagiarism is unethical. When someone uses another persons work, they are claiming that they did all of the long hours of research that they actual author did. They are also claiming that they spent all of the time writing it themselves.

Plagiarism means a lost learning opportunity. When someone decides to plagiarize, they do not learn anything. All they are doing is just taking the easy way out and using someone else's work. They only thing that they are learning is how to use the copy and paste feature on Microsoft word.

Plagiarism diminishes your credibility. When someone plagiarizes, they are lying. No one can believe someone that lies about information. If they plagiarized and lied about something like that, who is to say that they wont do it again or lie about something even bigger?

Plagiarism may result in serious penalties. Not only will plagiarizing get you a zero on your paper, it is also illegal. Getting a zero on your paper may only drop you a letter grade or two in the class, but it can also get you expelled from the college. Is taking the easy way out worth losing your college career? Or would you rather just take the zero for not doing the paper and still have your college career?
