MLA & Plagiarism

1. Give four reasons why using MLA format is important?
The MLA format is a good method because it enables people the ability of cross-referencing the sources cited. Promotes a better and disciplined format for the readers and the writer to follow. Plus MLA format can protect you from plagiarizing and keep your credibility from being diminished.

2. What is the purpose of using a consistent format?
Enabling a consistent format not only helps the reader to see the writer's point of view but also provides a disciplined and useful habit of building upon sources to form fully thought out arguments.

3. According to the power point, what would be the consequence of plagiarizing?
Plagiarizing ultimately can cause the writer to either fail the assignment or in serious cases be expelled from the school.

4. Where can you find answers about how two properly cite in MLA format?
The Prentiss Hall Reference Guide will tell you how to properly cite information in MLA format or look up www.mla.org.

5. Name two purposes of a works cited page.
The work cited page or otherwise known as "bibliography" page provides an extensive list of all the writer's sources used in the paper. Forming a list also creates an easy way for readers to pinpoint and utilize needed sources from the essay.
