Amber Arellano - Intro

Well, my name is Amber Arellano. (not an Italian last name, it's Hispanic and the '"ll" make a "y" sound)
I am 19 years old and this is my 4th semester at OTC. I was home-schooled my whole life and since I finished high school early I thought it would be great to get a head start on the path to my future career. I have one more semester then I can begin the dental assistant program here at OTC. I am very eager to get my future started and I have always been like that ever since I was a little girl.

I still live at home with my parents, and hey, why not take advantage of a roof over my head and food on the table for free? I have an older sister and a younger brother. I also have a boyfriend of 1 1/2 years that I love with my whole heart. I have had a lot of people tell me that I am too young to know what real love is, but when you know, you know. Sorry to get all sappy, but I can't help that I love this kid. Well, I am very much looking forward to this semester with everyone!

  1. You sound very ambitious, which is awesome! I was also home schooled all my life, and I really wish I had known exactly what I wanted to do when I was your age, which was only a few years ago, but still to start early helps.

  3. Nothing wrong with taking advantage of free housing and food. I'm 19 myself, and I share a house with my dad, though he's rarely there due to work.
May you have many happy years with your boyfriend.

  4. How was it to be home schooled? I can't imagine not going to an actual school.

  5. Is it a big change to be homeschooled and to now be at OTC? It's so sweet to hear you are in love.

  6. This is the first time I heard about home-school. In my country, we do not have anything slimier to that.
